Sun Runner and Southwest Stories hit the country's largest travel show

The Sun Runner and Southwest Stories with Steve Brown, made their annual appearance at the country's largest travel show, the LA Travel & Adventure Show, February 21-22, at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Travel show guests picked up copies of The Sun Runner and the new Joshua Tree Gateway Communities Visitor Guide, and were able to preview the Ridgecrest episode of the new season of Southwest Stories with Steve Brown.

Brown, publisher of The Sun Runner, was on hand to talk about the new season of the PBS TV show. This is the eighth consecutive year the magazine has had a presence at the travel show, promoting desert travel. Brown served as president of the California Deserts Visitors Association for three and a half years, and has produced and hosted the television series since 2013.

This season of Southwest Stories with Steve Brown debuts Monday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. on KVCR PBS, and features a road trip with a tour Brown led to the mining town of Randsburg, Ridgecrest, and the incredible Little Petroglyph Canyon. Members of the tour featured on that episode stopped by the booth to visit, as did readers of the magazine.

"The LA Travel & Adventure Show always feels like old home week for me," Brown said. "I love having the opportunity to connect with readers, viewers, and travelers who want to explore the Southwest. We're blessed with one of the most beautiful, dramatic, and exciting regions on the planet, so I really enjoy sharing my passion for the Southwest with people at the show, and encouraging them to go see it for themselves."
