Looking for a fantastic music festival that's cozier and friendlier than Coachella? The Joshua Tree Music Festival has become one of the premier events of the desert and while it's not as enormous as its hotter, huger neighbor down in the low desert, it combines music, art, yoga, and kids fun into a delightful event that takes place twice a year.

The Joshua Tree Music Festival can be found every October and May, out at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground. It brings together international, national, regional, and local bands on several stages, along with Kidsville, the Positive Vibration Station, live painters and artists, yoga, healing, and more. There are great vendors and food on site, and camping is available, as are nearby hotels and vacation rentals.

These two festivals are some of our favorites, and the caliber of bands selected to perform is truly world class. It's a great time, a solid value, and very community oriented.
